A rural dwelling on an elevated exposed hillside overlooking the picturesque Lough Derg. The site required a fine balance between access to the views, providing adequate shelter while also creating a form which would sit naturally into the hillside and be in keeping with other vernacular architecture in the area.

The arrangement and form of the dwelling is influenced by farmhouses and their outbuildings as found on the Irish landscape.
